Ingredients
2 tsp. Paprika |
1 tsp. Salt |
1/4 tsp. Onion powder |
1/4 tsp. Garlic powder |
1 1/4 tsp. Cayenne pepper |
1/4 tsp., ground Black pepper |
1/4 tsp., leaves Dried thyme |
1/4 tsp., leaves Dried oregano |
Instructions
Combine the paprika, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper, thyme and oregano in a small bowl. Mix together until well blended.

If you wish to make your own spice for your Cajun recipes, this one is good because it also gives you control over the amount of salt added. Many of the Cajun spice blends that you can purchase have 2 and 3 times the amount of sodium as this recipe. Salt does add a lot to many Cajun recipes and that’s why I have used a little more in this blend. You can use less if you are on a low-sodium diet. Try this with Scrambled Eggs or with the Shrimp Etouffee.
