Recipe Notes

This is a fantastic barbecue sauce. It is spicy, smoky, and exotic, but super simple to make.

Harissa is widely available in stores, and we like to purchase it in tubes (which is how we buy tomato paste, too). The spiciness of different brands can vary widely, so this is one recipe where you should taste for flavor – maybe start with a bit less harissa and add what you want to taste.
