Hanger Steak with Spanish Salsa

Ingredients
1/4 tsp., whole Fennel seed |
1/2 tsp., leaves Dried oregano |
1 medium Tomatoes (seeded and diced) |
2 medium Green onions (sliced crosswise) |
1 pepper Jalapeno pepper (seeded and minced) |
1/4 tsp. Paprika |
1/4 tsp.. Ground cumin |
1/4 tsp. Sugar |
1 Tbsp. Olive oil |
1/8 tsp. Salt |
1 to taste Black pepper |
8 ounce Beef flank steak (2 4-ounce hanger steaks)(or sirloin, flank steak or tenderloin filet) |
Instructions
Place the fennel, oregano, tomato, green onions, jalapeno, paprika, cumin, sugar, olive oil, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Fold together and chill.
When ready to cook, place a large skillet in the oven preheat to 375°F or start the grill. Place the steak in the pan and cook for about 5 minutes on each side.
Serve topped with salsa.
Serve this recipe with one of these starch side dishes.

This is a super simple and a flavorful steak dinner. If you can’t find hanger steak, other great choices include sirloin, flank steak or filet. I used a beautiful fresh, yellow heirloom tomato for my salsa, giving the salsa a softer, sweeter flavor.
