A smoothie can make a great breakfast if you’re on the run and only have a few seconds. Use a base of non-fat yogurt for a good protein source and a lot of fruit for good carbs and fiber.
It is best to have the fruit chilled and putting it in the freezer for about 20 to 30 minutes before adding to the blender makes a super ice cold smoothie.
For this recipe you can use almost any berry in place of the strawberries — blueberries, raspberries or blackberries.
Using papaya or mango juice gives the smoothie a good thick texture and are easy on the stomach. You can use about a half cup of fresh mango or papaya also. A half of a frozen banana works great in this recipe also.
