I need to watch my blood sugar and I am also on Coumadin. Stevia seems to potentially be a good sugar substitute, but since it's made from green leaves, I am wondering if there is any Vitamin K content in it?
We reached out to many of the makers of stevia and received only one reply - from the folks at ZSweet. Here is their response:
ZSweet does not contain Vitamin K.
The ingredients in ZSweet granulated pouches & canisters are erythritol (a naturally occurring sweetener), S. rebaudiana Leaf Extract (an FDA approved stevia extract) and natural flavors (natural botanical extracts).
The ingredients in ZSweet supersweet packets are erythritol (a naturally occurring sweetener), S. rebaudiana Leaf Extract (an FDA approved stevia extract), calcium carbonate (a natural de-acidifier for coffee and tea) and natural flavors (natural botanical extracts).
