Separating Eggs
You can separate eggs with your hands.
As mentioned in the sidebar on egg safety, eggs can be contaminated with bacteria so it is a good idea to be careful. Wash your hands before and after handling eggs.
Simply crack the egg and open the shell into two halves carefully over a clean bowl. Let the egg white slip into one half of the egg shell. The egg white should slide between the two halves as you gently pour from one into the other. As you do the egg white will fall into the bowl waiting below and the egg yolk will be in half of the shell.
